Ferrexpo Poltava Mining substitutes gas by sunflower husk

In 8m2016 Ferrexpo Poltava Mining decreased its natural gas consumption by 22% y-o-y to 98.9 m3. Such results have been achieved due to partial natural gas (as a source of energy for pellets production) substitution by sunflower husk and it allowed the company to economize approximately UAH 100M.
As was also noted by the company in 8m 2016 total Ferrexpo pellets production declined vs. 8m 2015 by 1.8% (7.658M tons), at that pellets from own ore production increased by 2.5%, 65% Fe pellets - by 11% (7.071M tons). The company is to report its 9m production results on October 5.
