Ukrainian sunoil production in MY 2015/16 reached 4.85M tons

According to preliminary estimations of Ukroliyaprom, in last season sunflower oil production in Ukraine grew by 10% vs. previous season up to 4.85 mln tons. Export made 4.4 mln tons or 90% of total volume (in previous season export made 4M tons). Taking into account growth of sown area under sunflower seeds in new season – MY 2016/17 (up to record 5.9M ha), it is expected that sunflower seeds production will reach record 13-13.5M tons (vs. 11.2M tons in MY 2015/16), so that sunoil production will also increase by 10-15%. Kernel remains clear market leader among crushers with the share of up to 30%.
