In comparison to August steel production in Ukraine declined by 7%.

According to Ukrmetallurgprom data, in total during 9m 2022 Ukrainian crude steel output made 5.53M tons (-66% to January-September 2021), thereof 3.2M tons was produced in the first two month of Y2022, 2.3M tons - during March-September (on average 330k tons per month).

As for pig iron output, in September it made 310k tons (-7.5% m-o-m), during January-September – 5.46M tons (-66% y-o-y).

After the start of the war in Ukraine in the end of February’22, the only export route for Ukrainian metal production is Europe, but even there logistics problems are huge – logistics costs have been surging, while deliveries are extremely slow.
