In reporting month sunoil export out of Ukraine made 509k tons with total value of $593M, which is quite high figure even for pre-war period of time.
For comparison sunoil export in August made 364k tons, in July – 279k tons. First of all increase in export is connected to launch of grains corridor out of Ukrainian Black Sea ports. Further export perspectives largely depend on grains corridor operating.
Since the beginning of Y2022 and till the end of September Ukrainian sunflower oil export made 2.9M tons for $4.0bln.
In September sunflower seeds export made 180k tons, on the level of previous month, but significantly lower than in previous months (in June it was at 540k tons). Two factors which impact sunflower seeds export now – 1) grains corridor make sunflower crush more profitable vs. export; 2) pace of sunflower seeds harvesting works which are under way now are slow due to negative weather conditions.
We also note that in September Ukrainian rapeseeds export was quite good at 862k tons (total rapeseeds harvest in Ukraine in Y2022 made 3.1M tons), soybeans export – 249k tons (148k tons in August).
