Basing on customs statistics figures, in November 2016 poultry export from Ukraine made 24.5k tons (USD 31.7M in money terms), by 14% higher than in October.
In total in January-November 2016 Ukrainian poultry export made about 224k tons (vs. 150k tons for 11m 2015), which is USD 271.7M in money terms. In the same period of time import of poultry to Ukraine increased as well – to 75.6k tons, as cheap foreign frozen production takes some share of Ukrainian producers on domestic market (in its cheapest segment – average imported production price in October-November made USD 0.42 per 1 kg, export price – USD 1.25-1.3 per 1 kg).
In addition we should note that several days ago EU banned Ukrainian poultry import (formal reason – bird flu case in Kherson region). It will negatively influence total volumes of Ukrainian export in both natural and money terms (more expensive product is supplied into EU). During January-November the share of Netherlands in Ukrainian poultry export made 12% (it second-largest importer of Ukrainian poultry).
Earlier we reported that according to Ukrstat information during January-October 2016 poultry production by Ukrainian enterprises grew by 7.8% y-o-y.
