According to Ukrtsukor association Ukrainian sugar producers finished their season, total volume of sugar production in the country made 2.008M tons.
In current season sugar yield made record-high 14.7% (vs. 14.1% a year ago), another positive factor – the highest during last years sugar beets yield, which made close to 48.1t/ha (43.6t/ha in previous season). All these factors led to rather good sugar production levels, despite sugar beets sown area has been lower than average during last years:

In a view of rather good profitability of sugar operations, it is expected that in new season sugar beets sown area in Ukraine will grow by 15-20%, so we can expect growth of sugar production.
As we earlier reported during September-December (since the start of new season) sugar export from Ukraine made close to 345k tons (total expected figure for the whole season – 500k tons).
