The largest Ukrainian poultry producer plans to open new meat processing facilities in Poland.
At the moment MHP realizes poultry processing at the two enterprises situated in EU – one in Slovakia (launched in March 2017) and one in Netherlands (in Q1 2016). According to Anastasia Sobotiuk, Head of Investors relations at MHP, at the moment capacity utilization at the Netherlands facility is 100% - 1.5k tons/month. Utilization of facilities in Slovakia (total capacity is by three times higher than in Netherlands) is lower.
Plans of the company imply production of meat semi-finished products for European market. “Such products as semi-finished meat production are demanded on European market. We are interested to acquire middle-sized European enterprise to process Ukrainian poultry for European market. We are interested to have cooperation with European food retail networks – we are ready to consider production under private label scheme”, - says Anastasia Sobotiuk.
As of today export remains main priority for MHP. In Q2 2017 the share of export in total poultry sales of the company made record-high 45% (71k tons), volume of chickens export in Y2016 – 193k tons. In Y2017 MHP started construction of the second stage of its Vinnitsa complex with objective to increase chicken meat production till Y2020 up to 730k tons (vs. 573k tons in Y2016). It is assumed that the whole additional volume of produced poultry will be directed to export.
