Total volume of Ukrainian grains export in the first month of a new season (MY2017/18) made 2.5M tons, which has been by 300k tons lower than in June, but higher y-o-y.
In July Ukraine started early crops of Y2017 harvest export. In reporting month wheat export made 810k tons (which has been by 100k tons higher than in July 2016), barley export – 815k tons (about 1M tons a year ago).
Corn export (Y2016 crop) in July remained high (as for one of final months of the corn season) and made almost 900k tons (vs. less than 500k tons a year ago). As a result, since October 2016 (start of marketing year for corn) Ukraine exported almost 21M tons of corn.
In money terms Ukrainian grains export in July made USD 368M (vs. USD 446M in June and USD 602M in May).
As of August 7 Ukrainian farmers harvested almost 31M tons of grains from the area of 8.2M ha (85% from the total area under early grains) with the yield 3.74t/ha (3.87t/ha a year ago). In particular wheat has been harvested from 5.5M ha (86% of total, wheat yield up to the date made 4t/ha), barley harvested area up to the reporting date is 2.2M ha (89%) with yield of 3.3t/ha.
