Basing on customs statistics figures in December Ukrainian companies exported 438k tons of soybeans, which made USD 165M in money terms. Such result was slightly lower than November figure of 551k tons (USD 206M). For current season (since September) export figure stands at about 1.25k tons, for the whole Y2016 – 2.7M tons (almost USD 1.0bln in money terms).
Taking into account Ukrainian soybeans harvest in current season made close to 4.15M tons (vs. 3.8M tons a year ago) and good current dynamics, we expect that soybeans export for the whole season will be higher than 2.35M tons in previous one.
Current CPT price of soybeans in Ukrainian ports is close to USD 375/t, average export price in Y2016 made USD 360/t (by 1.8% lower than in previous year). Along with it current CBOT price at USD 1042/BU is by 18% higher than a year ago.
