Driven by export in Q4 2016 Astarta Holding demonstrated the highest quarterly sugar sales figures for the last years (and probably for the whole history of its operations).
Total sugar realization by the company in last reporting quarter exceeded 150k tons vs. average quarterly value of about 85k tons during Y2015-9m2016 (for example, sugar sales in Q4 2015 made about 96k tons). Dynamics (in k tons) is represented on the following chart:
Such results have been obtained because of significant amount of sugar export realized by Astarta in last reporting quarter, which made close to 135k tons (vs. 25k tons in Q3 2016 and 34k tons for the whole Y2015). Taking into account booming export (during Q4 sugar export price in Ukraine was higher vs. domestic one), the company significantly reduced realization on domestic market, sales breakdowns between export and domestic markers for Y2016 are respresented on the chart below (data is represented in k tons):
As was reported earlier in current season the largest Ukrainian sugar producer increased its sugar output by 42% vs. MY2015/16 up to 505k tons, which is the largest Astarta production volume for the last years.
On the other side, according to latest trading update of the company, despite good grains harvest, it significantly decreased wheat realization vs. last year (by 38% to 133.2k tons) and slightly (-5%) decreased sales of corn. Most likely main reason of it were logistic problems which did not allow Astarta to make deliveries to the port, so no concerns on this side (Astarta wheat harvest in Y2016 was good).
According to trade report sales of other main types of Astarta production increased.
