Total Ukrainian grains export in February 2017 made close to 2.9M tons, which is lower than in February 2016 (about 3.2M tons). Along with it since the start of current season Ukraine exported almost 30M tons of grains, which is by 2.5M better than in the same period of previous marketing year.
In reporting month Ukraine exported close t0 1.8M tons of corn, which is below of January volume (2.3M tons) and corresponding period of previous year (2.4M tons). In February average corn export price made USD 154/t (vs. USD 151.5/t in January).
Ukrainian wheat export in February made 0.84M tons (vs. 1.2M tons in January and approximately the same 0.8M tons in February 2016), barley – close to 200k tons. Total proceeds from grains export in last reporting month slightly exceeded USD 440M (vs. USD 560M in January).
In total since the start of current season and till March 7 Ukraine exported 29.9M tons of grains, which is by 2.4M tons higher y-o-y. In coming months we expect decrease of wheat export, so that main exported crop to be corn. We forecast total Ukrainian grains export in current season to make about 41M tons.
