According to Ukrsugar since the beginning of current season and by October 19 Ukrainian producers processed 5.17M tons of sugar beet and produced 697.5k tons of sugar.
Average reported sugar yield is 13.5%. At the moment total number of sugar refineries which started operations in new season is 43.
Recently it has been also reported that by October 17 Ukrainian farmers harvested sugar beets from the total area of about 160k ha (more than 50% of total), current yield is 43.3t/ha (-6% y-o-y), total harvest up to the moment – about 7M tons of sugar beets.
Estimated total sugar production for Y2017 is 2M tons, export in MY2017/18 is to be in the range 350-500k tons (vs. 770k tons in MY2016/17).
