IMC completed harvesting of oilseeds

12 October 2017

On October 8 IMC completed harvesting of sunflower seeds and soybeans. Yields have been lower than in previous year, but higher vs. average reported at the moment for Ukraine.

Soybeans have been harvested from the area of 11k ha with reported yield (usually the company reports gross yield) of 2.3t/ha (which has been much less vs. record-high value of last season at 3.2t/ha, for information - up to the moment average reported Ukrainian soybeans yield for MY2017/18 is about 1.8t/ha). As a result total soybeans crop of IMC made more than 25k tons.

As for sunflower seeds, their total harvest comprised over 70k tons (harvested area – 24k ha, yield – 2.9t/ha vs. last year’s 3.2t/ha).

Chief operating officer of IMC Oleksandr Verzhykhovskyi made the following statement to disclosed results: "In the current year, despite the difficult, and sometimes, such as in Poltava region, extreme weather conditions, with virtually no productive rainfall during the entire period of vegetation, we managed to achieve quite good results for both oilseeds, first and foremost due to timely and qualitative implementation of all operations of the technological map, and also due to the application of only advanced agrotechnological techniques (the use of high quality seeds of foreign selection, a good system of nutrition, application of original plant protection products only)".
