In 2022, Metinvest paid $1.8 billion in dividends to shareholders

2021 was the most successful year in the history of Metinvest, as a result, during 2021-2022, the company paid its shareholders $4.3 billion in dividends.

2021 was the most successful year for Metinvest in its entire history. Due to the significant increase in world prices for metal and iron ore, the company's total revenue increased from $10.4 billion to $18 billion.

Profitability also reached a record high, EBITDA amounted to $7 billion, net profit - $4.8 billion ($526 million in 2020).

For obvious reasons, the situation worsened significantly in 2022, but despite all the troubles, Metienvest's EBITDA was positive and amounted to $1.9 billion. The group's operating cash flow in 2022 was $1.4 billion.

It is also worth noting that at the end of 2021, despite the payment of dividends during the year in the amount of $2.5 billion, the total amount of cash on the company's balance sheet was $1.2 billion.

The amount of cash at the beginning of 2022, as well as the operating cash flow during the year, allowed Metinvest to pay an additional almost $1.8 billion in dividends to shareholders in 2022.

In total during 2021-2022, the shareholders of Metinvest - Rinat Akhmetov's SCM and Vadym Novinsky's Smart Holding - received $4.3 billion in dividends, the approximate share of SCM - $3 billion, Smart Holding - $1 billion.
