Syngenta increases revenues and net profit

Syngenta group's revenue in 2022 increased by 20% compared to the previous year and amounted to almost $20 billion.

Syngenta Group has published its financial report for 2022. According to the report, the group's revenue increased from $16.7 billion in previous year up to $20 billion, operating profit made $2.85 billion, and net profit comprised $1.9 billion ($1.4 billion in 2021).

The largest market for the group is South America (39% of total sales are in this region), followed by North America (24%). 80% of Syngenta's total revenue in 2022 is sales of plant protection products (+21% by 2021), 20% is the seed sales segment (more than half of segment sales are corn and soybean seeds).

The main factor of the growth of revenue and profits in 2022 was the increase in prices for sold products, while sales volumes increased by approximately 8%.

As for operations in Ukraine and russia, the total volume of sales in these countries is approximately 5-6% of the total turnover of the group, Syngenta did not suffer significant losses as a result of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine.

As for the Ukrainian results, there are no official data for 2022, in 2021 the total turnover of Syngenta in Ukraine amounted to about 10 billion UAH (approximately $360 million or 2% of the total turnover of the group in 2021), net profit - 229 million UAH.
