In the first eight months of 2023, Ukrainian exports of iron ore amounted to 11.2 million tons worth $1.18 billion.

According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, in August, Ukraine exported 1.5 million tons of iron ore for $144 million.

The volume of exports increased compared to previous months and is second highest monthly export figure since the beginning of the current year (the biggest volume was in April).

The monthly dynamics of iron ore exports from Ukraine and its average price are shown in the graph below:

The average price of Ukrainian iron ore exports in the reporting month was $94 per 1t, which is the lowest figure since the beginning of 2023.

In total, in the first eight months of 2023, Ukrainian exports of iron ore amounted to 11.2 million tons, 44% less than in January-August 2022.
