In June 2023, Ukrainian chicken exports amounted to 38.4 thousand tons with a total value of $76 million.

According to the preliminary data of customs statistics, the Ukrainian export of poultry meat in June amounted to 38.4 thousand tons, which is almost equal to the figure of the previous month.

In total, in the first six months of 2023, Ukraine exported 213,000 tons of chicken for $392 million. Compared to the first half of 2022, the export of chicken in natural volume increased by 8%, while in monetary terms it decreased by 10% due to a decrease on the average export price.

During the first six months of 2022, the average price of Ukrainian poultry meat exports was $2.2 per 1 kg, at the beginning of the current year it decreased to $1.7 per 1 kg, but during the second quarter of 2023 it increased again, reaching almost $2 per 1 kg in June.

The main importers of Ukrainian chicken remain unchanged - the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and Slovakia.

As a reminder in 2022, Ukraine exported 413,000 tons of poultry meat worth $852 million. For comparison, the corresponding figures for 2021 - 459,000 tons and $716 million.
