Astarta has finished harvesting the early crops

27 July 2023

Astarta significantly increased wheat and rapeseed yields compared to 2022.

One of the largest Ukrainian agricultural holdings - the Astarta company - reported on the completion of harvesting of early grain and oil crops.

In the current year, the wheat harvesting area was about 43 thousand hectares, the yield was 6.3 t/ha, which is the highest figure in recent years, a total of 271 thousand tons were harvested. For comparison, in 2022, the wheat yield in Astarta was 4.8 t/ha, and 264 thousand tons were harvested from 55 thousand hectares.

This year's rapeseed yield was also one of the highest in the history of the company, amounting to 4.1 t/ha (more than 56 thousand tons of rape were harvested from 14 thousand hectares).

As per our estimates, even despite the currently low domestic prices for grains and oilseeds in Ukraine, due to high yields, wheat and rapeseed are profitable crops for Astarta.

In the structure of the company's crop rotation, compared to the previous season, the share of soybeans, sugar beet and rapeseed increased, while the share of corn decreased significantly.

The table below shows the data on the sown area and the yield of the main crops of Astarta in the last few seasons:
