Russian missile attack on Odessa region port infrastructure was the biggest since the beginng of full-scale invasion, assets of Kernel and Viterra were significantly damaged.
Kernel Holding informs that on 19 July 2023 the Company’s assets in the port of Chornomorsk were targeted in a massive Russian missile attack. Company’s grain transshipment facilities along with stored grain in the port of Chornomorsk have been significantly damaged. Initial estimates suggest that extensive time would be required to return the assets into operation.
Attacks were realized after Russia refused to prolong agreement on operations of grains corridor out of Ukrainian deep sea ports which expired on July 17.
Total transshipment capacity of Kernel's grains port terminal is 8 million tons of grains per year.
