Revenue of McDonald's Ukraine in 2023 amounted to almost 13 billion UAH, the net profit made 1.3 billion UAH.
According to the official financial statements of the company McDonald's Ukraine Ltd., which owns and operates McDonald's chain in Ukraine, its revenue in 2023 amounted to almost 13 billion UAH, which is four times higher y-o-y, and 17% more than in 2021.
As of February 24, 2021, 109 McDonald's restaurants were operating in Ukraine, but after the start of a full-scale war in February 2022, all of the chain's restaurants in Ukraine were closed. The first ones (in Kyiv) reopened their doors in September 2022, after which the chain began to gradually resume its operations in the country.
In November 2022, the first since the beginning of the invasion absolutely new McDonald's was open in Lviv, the chain also began to open its restaurants on Ukrainian highways. Currently, the total number of restaurants in Ukraine is 101.
As for other financial preformance figures of McDonald's in Ukraine in 2023, the company's operating profit amounted to UAH 1.2 billion, net profit - almost UAH 1.3 billion. The value of net profit in 2023 became the largest in the entire history of the company's activity in Ukraine.
Due to the profits, as well as the fact that, as of the current moment, because of regulatory restrictions, the company cannot pay dividends, the amount of cash on its accounts during 2023 increased from UAH 500 million to UAH 1.3 billion.
In 2022, the situation was absolutely different. McDonald's Ukraine received a loss of UAH 2.1 billion, and to cover the loss and support its activities in our country, the group increased the statutory capital of the Ukrainian company by almost UAH 2 billion.
