Ukrainian grain exports in April 2024 became the largest since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
According to preliminary data of customs statistics, Ukrainian grain exports in April 2024 amounted to 6.3 million tons, which is significantly higher than the figure of both the previous month (5.2 million tons) and April 2023 (3.9 million tons).
Exports in the reporting month became the highest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion and, in general, the third highest monthly figure in the entire history of Ukraine (despite the loss of a significant part of the country ports' grain transshipment capacity).
In April, Ukrainian exports of corn amounted to 4.1 million tons (2.8 million tons in March), wheat - 1.9 million tons (2.1 million tons), barley - 231 thousand tons (339 thousand tons).
In total, since the beginning of the season (July 2023), Ukraine exported 15.8 million tons of wheat (for the corresponding period of the previous marketing year - 14.4 million tons), 22.9 million tons of corn (24.8 million tons), and 2.2 million tons of barley (2.5 million tons).
According to our estimates, in general, Ukrainian grain exports in the current season may reach the level of the previous season and amount to about 48-50 million tons (in the 2022/23 season - 48.8 million tons).
