The volume of steel production by Ukrainian enterprises in March 2024 became the largest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

According to preliminary information from the Ukrmetallurgprom association, in March 2024, Ukrainian mills produced 611,000 tons of steel, which is higher vs. both the previous month (532,000 tons) and March 2023 (527,000 tons). Overall, the output volume in the reporting month was the highest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

In the first three months of 2023, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises smelted almost 1.7 million tons of steel (+36% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year), iron production during the same period amounted to 1.6 million tons (+32%).

In 2023, Ukrainian steel mills produced 6 million tons of pig iron (-6% compared to last year's figure) and 6.23 million tons of steel (-0.6% compared to 2022).
