Ukraine sugar export March 2024

Given the existing restrictions on the volume of Ukrainian sugar exports to Europe (during 2022 and 2023, almost all sugar exports from Ukraine were sent to EU countries), Ukrainian exporters are starting to send sugar to African and Asian countries.

Taking into account that in 2023, Ukraine produced about 1.8 million tons of sugar, with domestic consumption of 1 million tons, in the current season the country can export 700-800 thousand tons. At the same time, EU countries are ready to import no more than 300-400 thousand tons of Ukrainian sugar in 2024.

The main exporters of Ukrainian sugar are the three leading producers - Radekhiv-Sukor, Ukrprominvest-Agro and Astarta. The share of TOP-3 in total exports can be estimated at 60-70%.
