In December 2023 Ukrainian companies exported about 670k tons of sunflower oil which was one of the best results in the history of the country.

According to preliminary data of customs statistics, Ukrainian sunflower oil exports in December 2023 were close to 670,000 tons, which is 25% higher than the previous month, 53% more than in December 2022, and is one of the largest Ukrainian monthly sunflower oil exports figures for the entire history of the country (in recent years, the record figure was 690,000 tons in December 2021).

In total, during the first four months of the 2023/24 season, Ukrainian companies exported almost 2 million tons of sunflower oil, compared to 1.9 million tons a year ago. For the calendar year 2023, Ukrainian sunflower oil exports amounted to 5.7 million tons worth $5 billion (in 2022 - 4.3 million tons worth $5.5 billion).

Sunflower seeds exports remain absolutely insignificant - at about 30-40kmt per month.

Sunflower seeds harvesting in Ukraine is already over. According to preliminary official data of Minagro, sunflower seeds was harvested from an area of 5 million hectares. The yield is 2.39 t/ha, a total of 12 million tons were threshed. In our opinion, the real sunflower harvest in Ukraine exceeds official data by 1-2 million tons and amounts to 13-14 million tons, so the expected production of sunoil in the current season is 6 million tons, export - 5.5 million tons.
