In January 2024, Ukrainian sunflower oil exports amounted to 611,000 tons, since the beginning of the season - almost 2.6 million tons.

According to preliminary data of customs statistics, Ukrainian sunflower oil exports in January 2024 amounted to 611,000 tons, which is 9% less than in December, but 57% higher than in January 2023. In general, this is the second largest export figure in one month since the beginning of a full-scale Russian invasion into Ukraine (the highest volume was achieved in December 2023).

In the first five months of the 2023/24 season, Ukrainian companies exported almost 2.6 million tons of sunflower oil, vs. 2.3 million tons a year ago. As a reminder, for the calendar year 2023, Ukrainian sunflower oil exports amounted to 5.7 million tons worth $5 billion (in 2022 - 4.3 million tons worth $5.5 billion).

Among oil exporters from Ukraine, Kernel and MHP remain the leaders.

Export of sunflower seeds remains absolutely insignificant - at the level of 30-50 thousand tons per month. The export of sunflower meal in January 2024 amounted to about 540,000 tons.
