The monthly traffic of the epicentrk.ua online store reaches 25 million visitors, in 2023 the marketplace doubled its revenue compared to 2021.
The rau.ua portal presents the main points of the conversation of the new head of the marketplace of the company Epicentr-K Yulia Pinteskul to Forbes Ukraine.
Regarding the main financial performance figures of the project, according to Yulia, over the past two years, Epicentr has doubled the turnover of the marketplace. In 2023, it exceeded UAH 1.5 billion, while in 2021, the sales of the marketplace amounted to only UAH 730 million. The monthly traffic of the epicentrk.ua online site reaches 25 million visitors.
Over the past few years, the Epicentr marketplace has been among the TOP-3 most visited online stores in Ukraine, but the lag behind the market leader - the company Rozetka - remains significant.
In October 2022, a new legal entity was registered - the company Epicentr Marketplace, and for 2022 its revenue according to official financial statements was UAH 14.5 million (the company's revenue is commission income from the sale of goods from third-party sellers).
As for the share of the marketplace in the total revenue of the Epicentr group, it remains not very significant. In 2022, the turnover of the company Epicenter-K amounted to UAH 57.6 billion, which is almost the same as in 2021. The company's operating profit in 2022 was UAH 6.4 billion, net profit made UAH 3.6 billion.
According to the data of the company's interim quarterly financial report, the turnover of Epicentr-K for January-September 2023 amounted to UAH 52.3 billion, which is by 27% more than in the corresponding period of 2022 (UAH 41 billion).
As of the beginning of 2024, the retailer has 75 shopping malls and hypermarkets, including Nova Liniya hypermarkets (before the full-scale invasion, there were more than 80, but a number of stores were damaged, and four hypermarkets - in Mariupol, Kherson, Chernihiv and Buch - were completely destroyed).
Also, Epicenter is one of the largest agricultural holdings in the country with a total land bank exceeding 160,000 hectares and a grain storage capacity of 1.5 million tons.
