Also, Ukrainian farmers have almost finished harvesting sunflower seeds and soybeans.

According to information of the Ministry of Agriculture, as of November 9, harvesting of sunflower seeds and soybeans in Ukraine is almost complete. As of the reporting date, sunflower seeds were collected from an area of more than 4.9 million hectares of (97% of forecast). The yield is 2.35 t/ha, more than 11.5 million tons of sunseeds were harvested.

By regions, the biggest volume of sunseeds was harvested in Dnipro (1.5 million tons), Kropyvnytskyi (1.4 million tons), and Poltava (1.1 million tons) regions. The leaders in terms of yields are Khmelnytskyi (3.3 t/ha) and Ternopil (3.2 t/ha) regions.

Regarding soybeans, as of November 9, about 1.8 million hectares of this crop were harvested (99% of the plan), more than 4.7 million tons were collected with an average yield of 2.63 t/ha (the yield is close to the record figure of Y2021 at 2.64 t/ha, more informations about the historical yields of the main grain and oilseed crops in Ukraine is available at the link).

Among the regions, the absolute leader by yield is Ivano-Frankivsk region (3.45 t/ha), followed by Ternopil, Lviv, and Poltava regions (the largest soybean harvest - about 600,000 tons - was collected in Poltava region and Khmelnytskyi region).

Corn harvesting has been gradually approaching its finish as well. As of November 9, 2.9 million hectares (72% of the planned area) were harvested. A total of 21.2 million tons of corn was collected, the yield is quite high - 7.24 t/ha. In general, if we extrapolate the current yield by region to unharvested area, the total corn harvest in Ukraine this year can reach 29.5 million tons with an average yield of 7.3 t/ha (potentially, this is the second best figure in the history of the country, after 7.7 t/ha in 2021 year).
