In April, Ukrainian sunflower oil exports once again exceeded 600,000 tons

According to preliminary data of customs statistics, Ukrainian sunflower oil exports in April 2024 amounted to 628,000 tons - at the level of the previous three months and 15% more than in April 2023.

In total, during the first eight months of the 2023/24 season, Ukrainian companies exported more than 4.4 million tons of sunflower oil, compared to 3.7 million tons a year ago. As a reminder for the calendar year 2023, Ukrainian sunflower oil exports amounted to 5.7 million tons worth $5 billion (in 2022 - 4.3 million tons worth $5.5 billion).

According to official data, in 2023 the total sunflower harvest in Ukraine amounted to 12.8 million tons, which allows for the production of 6 million tons of oil. Usually, in previous years, the actual harvest was 1-1.5 million tons higher than the official figures, so sunoil output and export potential in the current season may be higher than the estimate above.
