On December 30, the chain's second supermarket was opened in Odesa, so the total number of Varus stores as of the end of 2023 is 108.

In line the company's previous plans, Varus is expanding its presence in Odesa - on December 30, the company opened its second supermarket there.

In total, this is the 108th supermarket of the chain. For comparison, at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, 113 Varus stores were operating, mainly in Dnipropetrovsk region and Kyiv.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, part of the stores ended up in the occupied territory and in close proximity to the front line. A warehouse of frozen products was destroyed in the Kyiv region.

Despite this, the company managed to rebuild logistics processes quite quickly, and by the end of May 2022, 97 of its stores were operating.

As for the turnover indicators, in 2022 revenue of Omega LLC - Varus operating entity - amounted to UAH 14.6 billion, +6% y-o-y. Varus ranked fifth among Ukrainian food retailers in terms of turnover, after the two undisputed leaders - ATB-Market and Fozzy Group, as well as Metro and Novus.

In the first nine months of 2023, Varus revenue increased by almost 20% y-o-y, which, in general, corresponds to the general trend in Ukrainian food retail.
